PNG to SVG turns a PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP or WebP picture into an SVG drawing. The trace uses VTracer, under the MIT license, inside a Web Worker on this device. The picture stays on this device.
Black and white traces light and dark instead of color. Straight edges uses polygons instead of curves. Cutout shapes punches holes instead of stacking layers. Drop speckles, on by default, removes regions only a few pixels wide.
The picture must be 4 MB or smaller and 4 million pixels or fewer. Width and height are read from the file before the trace starts, so a tiny file that would expand into a huge picture is refused. Colors extracts a palette from the picture. Change the count to extract again, or change a swatch to repaint that color. Complexity simplifies the paths as it moves toward Simple. Color precision, corner smoothing and layer difference stay at the VTracer defaults.
Copy and Download save the same SVG as image.svg. A trace with no shapes left asks you to turn Drop speckles off or to use a larger picture.

Colors extracts a palette from the picture. Raise or lower the count to extract again. Change a swatch to repaint that color and leave the shapes where they are. Complexity moves from Detailed toward Simple and simplifies the paths. Black and white ignores the palette and traces light and dark. Straight edges uses polygons. Cutout shapes punches holes. Drop speckles removes tiny regions.
Drop speckles can remove every region of a very small picture. Turn it off, or open a larger picture, and trace again.
