XML Validator checks that a document is well-formed and stops at the first problem. Paste markup and the report names the root element and how many elements it contains, or the input highlights the tag, quote or character that failed.
An XML declaration, comments, processing instructions, CDATA sections and empty tags such as <item/> are allowed. The five predefined entities and numeric character references are accepted and are not expanded. Other entities are rejected.
Schema checks are out of scope. XSD and DTD validation are not performed, and a DOCTYPE declaration is rejected. The check runs in your browser and the text you paste is never uploaded.
