CSV Escape prepares one field for a comma-separated file. Paste the text a cell should hold. When that text contains a comma, a double quote or a line break (newline or carriage return), the field is wrapped in double quotes and each quote inside it is written twice, which is the quoting rule in RFC 4180. Text without those characters is left unchanged.
Always quote wraps the field even when none of those characters appear. The delimiter is a comma. A tab or semicolon delimiter is not offered yet, because this tool only has on-or-off settings. Swap sends the result to CSV Unescape so you can check the round trip.

Turn it on when every field should be wrapped, including plain words. The option adds the surrounding quotes even when the text has no comma, quote or line break. Quotes inside the text are still doubled.
RFC 4180 separates fields with a comma, and that is the delimiter this tool writes. A tab or a semicolon is not an on-or-off setting, and those are the only settings available, so another delimiter is not offered yet.
